
Drug Deal Goes South, Results in Car Chase and Arrest
Megan Howes, 19, and David Colby, 31, both of Anchorage, AK, attempted to buy $240 worth of OxyContin pills, but ended up chasing the drug dealers after the dealers took the couples’ money and fled. Howes and Colby pursued the two men and one woman in Colby’s silver Dodge truck and ended up hitting the dealers’ Chevy Blazer. Witnesses say they saw Colby use a handgun to force the drug dealers out of their car. After beating the drug dealers, Colby took their cash and cell phones. Howes and Colby were booked on three counts of first-degree robbery.
Salisbury, MD Police Looking for Armed Robbery Suspect
An armed criminal is currently on the loose in Maryland following the robbery of a Delmarva Pharmacy on Belmont Avenue. Authorities report that a thin, white man, about 6’2” and with reddish-blond hair, jumped over the pharmacy counter and demanded OxyContin pills from the pharmacist. The suspect brandished a handgun and was given an unspecified amount of the prescription narcotic painkiller.
City Employee Arrested for Receiving Illegal OxyContin Pills
Boston city employee Gregory J. Horan, 30, was arrested for allegedly attempting to receive a package containing 2,000 oxycodone (OxyContin) pills and 30 tablets of Alprazolam (a generic version of Xanax). The prescription painkillers were hid in a package containing a variety of children’s items, including coloring books and plastic toys. Local Boston and State Police worked with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents after getting a tip that a package delivered to FedEx/Kinko’s was believed to contain drugs. After opening the package and determining the contents, police instructed FedEx employees to reseal the package and hold it for the customer to pick it up. When Horan signed for the package and left, police seized the package and searched him. During the search of Horan’s person, police found two additional plastic bags with 21 Oxycodone pills and 25 OxyContin pills and promptly arrested him.
Robber Used Machete During Pharmacy Robbery
Twenty-three-year-old Christopher L. Stensgard, of Oakdale, was sentenced to four years in prison for the robbery of a St. Paul Walgreens pharmacy. Last June, Stensgard robbed the Walgreens of nearly $10,000 worth of OxyContin and fentanyl patches. However, Judge Judith Tilsen stayed the sentence in favor of 20 years of probation. Stensgard used a machete in the robbery and pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated robbery. In addition to probation, the young man must serve a year in the Ramsey County workhouse, pay a $1,000 fine and undergo random drug testing.
Major OxyContin Dealer in Marin County Behind Bars
Twenty-six-year-old Cody Lee Wisecarver, was sentenced to four years in prison following a guilty plea to sales of a controlled substance. Wisecarver was considered a major drug dealer in the Northern California area of Marin County. The 26-year-old man was had been under surveillance by the Marin County Major Crimes Task Force. After seeing Wisecarver, his girlfriend, and two other acquaintances conduct a drug deal in Terra Linda, CA, authorities stopped a vehicle carrying the four and searched it. The search of the vehicle and the occupants produced 265 pills of the powerful prescription painkiller OxyContin. Commanders of the Marin County Major Crimes Task Force have noticed a significant drop in illegal OxyContin sales since Wiescarver’s arrest and incarceration.
