Forty-six-year-old Thomas Jefferson Davis, of South Berwick, Maine, has been arrested and charged with robbing three pharmacies in the Dover and one in Kittery. When the truck’s owner recognized his vehicle, he contacted police and said he had loaned the truck to Davis. Police found Davis, questioned him, and then finally arrested him after he confessed to all his crimes. Davis said he was never dangerous and committed the robberies by giving the pharmacists noted demanding the prescription drug OxyContin. In total, Davis was able to make off with close to 700 tablets of various milligrams of OxyContin. Davis has previous charges of fraud, forgery, and theft by deception from arrests in the 1980s.

Johnstown Young Adult Sentenced to 15 Years

Twenty-five-year-old Kyle L. Cavendish, of Johnstown, NJ, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for robbing a man of 200 OxyContin pills. Following a three-day trial, a jury and a judge found Cavendish guilty of four felony counts of entering an unlocked house to steal the OxyContin pills. When Cavendish couldn’t find the pills in the house, he woke up the homeowner and allegedly threatened the man with a handgun. Cavendish was not found guilty of aggravated robbery, as the jury wasn’t convinced he used a weapon during the robbery. The homeowner was able to link Cavendish to the crime by describing a distinctive tattoo on Cavendish’s neck. While law enforcement was never able to produce the gun Cavendish allegedly used in the robber or stolen OxyContin pills, the jury found Cavendish guilty of one count each of aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony; robbery, a second-degree felony and theft of dangerous drugs, a fourth-degree felony. Authorities used Cavendish’s criminal record to show a history of violence. Previously, Cavendish was arrested for drunk driving, grand theft, and aggravated robbery.
